Maternity

Have you ever thought about Pre-Birth photographs? You know, “baby bump”? How about professional portraits of your newborn?

Maternity sessions are fun and capture the beauty of motherhood.  For some women this may be the last time, the first time, or the first and only time they will ever be getting pregnant.  This may be a time in your life when you really don’t want to take portraits but end up letting me create some beautiful portraits.  Then when the baby is born and the new mothers come look at the portraits, I have had many of the women cry with joy because the feelings come back to them and they can remember what it was like.  That is why I am in photography, to give people memories the can cherish forever and those memories actually will bring back feelings around the time the portraits were created.  Capture the Moment!

A little information about when to take these beautiful portraits and a few suggestions:

Maternity sessions should take place at 32-38 weeks. Please refrain from wearing clothing that is restricting or leaves marks on the skin a few hours prior to your session.

Lace white bras work well as white blouses or nightgowns, even wearing your husbands/boyfriends white dress shirt. I ask that you not wear maternity pants as these are not very good to photograph with the big elastic band that forms around her belly. Regular jeans or pants, unzipped or unbuckled work the best.

Feel free to bring any props that you might have in mind, baby shoes, rattle, necklace, whatever you may have purchased for this special time.
